Our experience is primarily with educational facilities constructed under the authority of the CA Division of the State Architect (DSA) and the Trustees of the CA State University system. However, we have successfully coordinated efforts between different agencies and AHJs functioning on the same project, such as the San Diego Building Department, San Diego City Fire Marshal’s office for hazardous materials storage facilities, and the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM).
Joint-use projects (those involving a school district and at least one other party) have also been successfully managed, including the Hilltopper’s Little League (sponsored by the S.D. Padres); the YMCA (both gymnasium and “6-to-6” facilities); the La Jolla HS Foundation baseball clubhouse; and the San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation. In addition to multiple owners, such projects often involve inter-agency overlap between jurisdictions. We have handled them all. Your success is our success.
California State University:
Since 2009, we have provided ongoing Inspector of Record (IOR) construction monitoring and quality assurance to the San Diego State University, working as a subcontractor to O'Connor Construction Management (ocmi.com). Key projects include the $11 million Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center, the $8 million University Towers and Food Services renovation, the renovations at Villas Alvarado residence facility, the new $14.5 million Aztec Basketball Performance Center, several Aztec Market T.I.'s including College Square, and the Paige Pavilion.
In 2017 we are concluding inspections and oversight on projects as diverse as the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre, (OAT), Destination, W Lot, and renovations at Tenocha, Chapultepec Hall, College of Extended Studies, Cuicial, and assorted campus-wide maintenance projects. In the fall, we are beginning the projects at Tula Conference Center and College Square, and continuing our service to the facilities side of the house in the small projects dept.

2010-2013 Provided IOR construction oversight services to the SDCCD for infrastructure and capital improvement projects under Propositions "S" and "N".
LENTULO served as IOR on projects ranging from a new 5,000s.f. central plant and its related underground infrastructure supplying all of S.D. City College, to a solar heating project for the competition pool at the Ned Baumer Aquatic Center.
George Lentulo was the IOR for the award-winning design by architect Marlene Imirzian of the Heavy Duty Advanced Transportation Center, completed in 2013. This facility provides for diesel mechanics and related engineering classes. It includes 17,500 sq.ft. of classroom space, a bus and transport-truck sized dynamometer building, storage facilities, a six-bay vehicle repair facility, administrative office space, and an equipment test yard. The complete development of this new 4-acre site sits at Miramar College.

Since 2002, LENTULO has worked on a number of fronts to assist the San Diego Unified School District. Originally contracted to the District as a DSA inspector, that role expanded to include CM duties on a variety of projects. As a construction manager, George Lentulo was responsible for assisting the District with management and administration of construction contracts, compliance of policies and procedures, as well as operation manuals and warranties. His understanding of contracts and contract law, estimating, quality assurance, and California regulations pertaining to latent defects contributed greatly to the SDUSD during Prop-MM.
Following MM, Prop-S and Prop-Z allocated over $2 billion of school construction funding. Examples of projects for which George Lentulo was recently selected by the District as the Project Inspector include:
