LENTULO CONSULTING provides registered and certified inspectors of record (IOR), and related special inspectors. Our clients are primarily facility or project management teams that are planning, building, or modernizing educational facilities K-12, community colleges, and the CA State University. All inspectors are DSA, OSHPD, RCI, and/or ICC certified, so you can be assured of experienced and competent third-party project monitoring for contract and code compliance.
Quality-assurance (QA) inspectors are process managers responsible for managing the testing and inspections program as set forth by the the project's design professionals and the California code. For publicly-funded projects not under the jurisdiction of a city or county, such inspectors are generally a requirement for compliance with the California Code of Regulations, Title 24.
Pre-bid plan and spec review, post-project test record compilation, review of contractor's invoices, and participation in job-site meetings to integrate QA into the project schedule are all vital activities for which the resident inspector is uniquely suited.
Begun in 1989 as a construction trades contracting business, by 1997 the business model evolved into primarily contract management as a result of our client's needs. By 2001 business was focused almost entirely on the inspection of public school construction that occurs under the jurisdiction of the Division of the State Architect (DSA). Our past experience as builders provides us with the foresight to look beyond the day to day construction, and to see potential problems before they surface.
Joining the Construction Management team of San Diego Unified in 2002 during the implementation of Proposition MM (a $1.5 Billion school construction bond ), George Lentulo served as an inspector, a construction manager, and administered construction warranty issues for the school district during that tenure. Due to the efforts of a great many people, Prop-MM was a success and paved the way for the current model of bond-funded capital improvement programs for school districts throughout the county and state.
Dedicated to representing the owner’s interest and to ensure that the project's results are in compliance with the contract documents, we are proud to serve the communities of Southern California, helping to certify seismic safety, fire and life safety, and access compliance on taxpayer-funded public works projects. We work hard to uphold our credo that "Serving the client's interest is our only gauge for success".
